System caches
Before using the functions on the System caches page, please contact the ThoughtFarmer Helpdesk for more information about each function and the potential impact of any changes made.
You can find the System caches functions on the Admin panel: Advanced section > System caches page.
The System caches are used to increase performance in ThoughtFarmer. The functions on the System caches page are for advanced site admin, and will only need to be used very rarely for troubleshooting support issues. Using these functions may temporarily impact site speed, so please contact the ThoughtFarmer Helpdesk first.
The following is a brief overview of each of the functions.
Refresh tree paths
A tree path is the location where a specific piece of content is found within the ThoughtFarmer navigation. The tree path is a calculated value. The Refresh Tree Paths function refreshes the index TF uses to construct the site's navigation. On rare occasions, some content may not be indexed correctly and thus not appear in the navigation. Clicking Refresh Tree Paths will rebuild the index to correct this issue.Empty thumbnail image cache
When images stored within ThoughtFarmer are viewed at different sizes/dimensions the resized image is cached so that it does not need to be created every time it is requested. Clicking Empty thumbnail image cache deletes all of the stored resized images and they will be regenerated the next time they are requested. Deleting the thumbnail image cache frees up space on the server hosting the website. Cloud clients do not need to use this function.Object caching
Repeatedly used data from ThoughtFarmer is stored in a data cache in the web server's memory to improve site speed. The Flush Cached Data function purges all data the site has cached and forces the data to be retrieved from the database the next time it is requested. This function is used on rare occasions when changes to content or configuration settings require a cache flush in order to display correctly.
