Glossary of ThoughtFarmer Analytics

Learn about the commonly used terms to make the most of ThoughtFarmer Analytics.
Actions
- The number of actions performed by your visitors. Actions can be page views, internal site searches, downloads or outlinks.
Actions per visit
- The average number of actions (page views, site searches, downloads or outlinks) that were performed during the visits.
Average generation time
- This value represents the average amount of time it takes to load a page in your website and includes both 1) the time it takes for your webserver to generate the page, plus 2) the time it takes for your visitor to download the page response from the server. You can use this value to quickly gauge the speed of your website.
Avg. time on page
- The average amount of time visitors spent on this page (only the page, not the entire website).
Avg. time spent
- The average amount of time spent on this field when a visitor interacted with it. The time is measured from the moment a visitor focuses this field until they make the last change or until they leave the field again. If a visitor interacts with this field several time before submitting or leaving the form, all time spent on this field will be summed. The time spent includes the hesitation time.
Avg. visit duration (in seconds)
- The average duration of a visit.
Bookmarks
- The number of times the page has been bookmarked.
Bounce rate
- The percentage of visits that only had a single pageview. This means, that the visitor left the website directly from the entrance page.
Bounces
- Number of visits that started and ended on this page. This means that the visitor left the website after viewing only this page.
Comments
- The number of times the page has been commented on.
Creates
- The number of times a content type is created in ThoughtFarmer. For example: page, section, news post, document, calendar event, etc.
Decreaser
- The term used when measuring evolution, a decreaser is when the results are decreasing over time.
Downloads
- The number of times this link was clicked.
Edits
- The number of times the page has been edited.
Entry page
- Entry page is the first page of a visit.
For each Entry Page URL, ThoughtFarmer Analytics reports the number of Entrances (Visits that started on this page), Bounces (Visits that started on this page but left the website straight away) and Bounce rate.
Exit rate
- The percentage of visits that have left your website after this interaction.
Exits
- Number of visits that ended on this page.
Follows
- The number of times the page has been followed.
Increaser
- The term used when measuring evolution, an increaser is when the results are increasing over time.
Likes
- The number of times the page has been liked.
Outlinks
- The number of times this link was clicked.
Pageviews
- The number of times this page was visited.
Platforms

The interface from which a user visits the ThoughtFarmer application. It currently has two values:
- Web: Traffic that originates from a web browser (Chrome, Safari, Edge). Note that this includes both desktop and mobile web browsers.
- ThoughtFarmerMobile/{versionNumber}: Traffic that originates from the native mobile app (iOS and Android). Version number indicates the version of the app in the Apple App Store or Google Play store.
Searches
- The number of visits that searched for this keyword on your website's search engine.
Shares
- The number of times the page has been shared.
Unique downloads
- The number of visits that involved a click on this link. If a link was clicked multiple times during one visit, it is only counted once.
Unique pageviews
- The number of visits that included this page. If a page was viewed multiple times during one visit, it is only counted once.
Unique visitors
- The number of unduplicated visitors coming to your website. Every user is only counted once, even if they visit the website multiple times a day.
Users
- The number of users logged in your website. It is the number of unique active users that have a User ID set.
Visits
- If a visitor comes to your website for the first time or if they visit a page more than 30 minutes after their last page view, this will be recorded as a new visit.
