Default site security
The default site security is the security permissions that are set for the intranet root page, content/1. eg. https://yourintranet.thoughtfarmer.com/content/1
The security for homepages is set separately from the default site security, as the intranet site can have multiple homepages with different security settings.
All page security will inherit from the default site security until security inheritance is broken by unchecking the inheritance box in the security settings for a page. The security inheritance checkbox is labelled "Use security settings from parent page (parent page name)".
When a new intranet site is set up, the default site security is All Registered Users have view permission, and the owner of the root page or site/system administrator has edit permission for the site.
