Main navigation dropdown menus
Admins can enable dropdown menus that expand to list the child pages of top level pages listed in the main navigation bar. The dropdown menus open when a cursor hovers over a link in the main navigation bar. You can choose whether to display one or two levels of subpages in the dropdown menus, and choose the number of second level subpages that will display.
Certain subpage types will not display in the dropdown menus: calendar events, news posts, forum topics, form entries, and documents. The default employee directory and groups pages won't display dropdown menus.

Enable two levels of subpages
You can choose to display one or two levels of subpages in the navigation dropdown menus.
- Click on the gear icon on the right of the main navigation bar.
- Click on Set navigation options in the menu that opens.
- Ensure the checkbox "Enable drop-down menus in the top navigation" is checked.
- Find the checkbox "Display two levels in the drop-down menu":
- Check the checkbox to display two levels of subpages in the dropdown menus.
- Uncheck the checkbox to display one level of subpages in the dropdown menus.

Set number of subpages to display
The number of second level subpages can be set from 0 to 10; the default number is 3. The number set is the maximum number of second level subpages that will display in the dropdown menu. Keeping the default on the low end of the range makes it easier to scan the dropdown menus and find content.
If there are more subpages than are set to display, a View all link will appear at the bottom of the listed subpages. Clicking View all takes the user to the parent page of the listed subpages so that they can view all of the subpage links.
- Click on the gear icon on the right of the main navigation bar.
- Click on Set navigation options in the menu that opens.
- Ensure the checkbox "Enable drop-down menus in the top navigation" is checked.
- Ensure the checkbox "Display two levels in the drop-down menu" is checked.
- Under "Default number of subpages within the second level", click on the dropdown menu and select the maximum default number of second level subpages to show in the dropdown menus.
- Click Save.
Set number of subpages for individual page to display
If there is a page that you would like to display a different number of subpages than the default in the dropdown menu, you can set the number of subpages to display for that page individually. You must be an editor and a content admin to change this setting. Two levels of subpages must be enabled in the navigation settings on the homepage in order to see and edit this setting.
- Go to the parent page of the subpages for which you want a different number to display.
- Go into edit mode.
- Find Drop-down menus under the Publishing options heading on the right. Click Configure menu.
- Click on the dropdown menu and select the number of subpages you want to display, or choose to display All subpages.
- Click Done.
- Save the page.
Display icons for first level subpages
If page icons are set, you can choose to display the page icons beside the titles of first level subpages in the dropdown menus. This can help users scan the menus and identify the content they want to visit.
- Change the Display icons toggle to ON.
- Click Save.
Reorder subpages
Depending on the number of first and second level subpages that display, you can end up with visual gaps in a dropdown menu, eg. one column of subpages is significantly shorter than the other. Second level pages will always display as a group, rather than breaking into a new column, so this may create a visual gap.
To change the arrangement of the subpages in the dropdown menu, you can go to the top level page and reorder the navigation of the pages below it. Keep in mind that reordering the navigation to change the look of the dropdown menu will also reorder the subpages in other navigation areas like the Supernav or a section content type page.
