Emails from ThoughtFarmer are being marked as spam
Problem
Notification emails sent out by your ThoughtFarmer Cloud instance end up being marked as spam by your mail server.
Solution
Your ThoughtFarmer Cloud instance uses the Sendgrid messaging platform to send out notification emails. These emails originate from the ip address 168.245.11.193. If Sendgrid is not authorized to send emails on behalf of your domain these emails can end up being marked as spam by your mail server. We can prevent this by following the below steps.
Use your own mail server instead of Sendgrid to send out notification emails
- Although Sendgrid is used by default to send out emails by your ThoughtFarmer instance you can change this by visiting the admin page https://YourThoughtFarmerSite.domain.com/admin/outgoingmail
- On that screen you can configure ThoughtFarmer to use your own mail server instead of Sendgrid. Please reach out to your System Administrator to get the details of your mail server.
- Once you have entered the correct server and account details you can use the 'Test Connection' button to send out an email to verify that this is set up correctly.
- Then press 'Save Changes'. Your ThoughtFarmer instance should now start using your own mail server instead of Sendgrid and emails should not be marked as spam any more.
