Allow View only users to see version history

By default, only admins and users with View & edit permissions can view page version history. View only users are not able to view page version history by default. However, the config setting version.history.displayViewOnly.enabled can be used to grant View only users permission to view page version history. Even when this config setting is set to true to allow View only users to view page version history, View only users are not able to restore a page to a previous version. Only admins and users with View & edit permissions can restore a page to a previous version.

To allow view only users to see version history:

1. Go to the Admin panel: Advanced section > Configuration Settings page.
2. Type version in the Search config settings field to narrow the config settings results.

3. Find the config setting:

   version.history.displayViewOnly.enabled

4. Click the edit icon beside the config setting. (This opens the Edit configuration setting pop-up window.)
5. The default value is false. Select the true radio button to allow view only users to view page version history.
6. Click Save.
