Navigation card settings
You can view and edit the following navigation card settings by editing the specific navigation card in the set up cards window. To do that:
- Go into edit mode on the page with the navigation card you want to edit.
- Click Set up cards under Content type & template on the right.
- In the Update cards window, find the navigation card, and click the gear icon on the right.
- Change the desired settings as described below, and click Update.
- Click Done at the bottom of the Update cards window.
- Click Save to save the page.
Number of columns
Directory-style navigation cards by default have 2 columns, but they can have from 1 to 3 columns. Select the radio button for the number of columns you want to display in the navigation card. The number of columns that display may also be affected by the page layout selected and the resolution of the monitor it is viewed on.
Applies to: Compact directory, Detailed directory, Block directory, Compact block directory
Item flow
The default flow for subpage items is from top to bottom of the columns. Selecting the item flow checkbox will cause the flow for subpage items to change from left to right, alternating between columns.
Container background
The container background color is the color of the area behind and around the navigation card blocks.
Change the color in the navigation card settings by clicking on the Background color circle. In the color picker that opens, select a color from the color customizer, enter a Hex or RGB color code, or select a preset color. To close the color picker without making changes, just click outside of the color picker box.
Applies to: Block directory, Compact block directory, Grid 2+3
Hot tip! If you don't want the container background to show, select white for the container background color.
Border style
Add a thin border of color along the top of navigation card blocks by selecting the Add color line to top border checkbox. Select the radio button for the desired color.
The available colors for the border line are the same as the page header background colors. Those colors are selected in the Admin panel: User interface section > Theme page, Colors tab of the active theme.
Applies to: Block directory, Compact block directory, Grid, Grid square, Grid 2+3, Grid 3+4
Image padding
When the option Add spacing around images is unchecked, the thumbnail image extends to the sides and top of the subpage tile/block. When the option is checked, padding is added on the sides and top of the thumbnail image.
Applies to: Grid, Grid square, Grid 2+3, Grid 3+4
Hide subpages in left side navigation
By default, subpages will not show in the left side navigation for pages that have a navigation card on them. All section pages have navigation cards that display the section subpages, so by default section pages do not show subpages in the left side navigation. The breadcrumb leading to the section page still shows in the left column.
To show subpages in the left navigation, uncheck the Hide subpages in the left side navigation checkbox.
Hide left column
By default, the left column will show on pages with navigation cards. To hide the left column, select the checkbox Hide left column. When the left column is hidden, it is collapsed by default, but can still be expanded to display by page viewers.
Page icons
Page icons display with subpage titles in directory-style navigation cards (compact directory, detailed directory, block directory, and compact block directory). See Add page icon or emoji to learn how to add a page icon.
