Insert links
Use these instructions to insert hyperlinks on your intranet pages that lead to other pages of the intranet. You'll probably be surprised at how much you enjoy inserting links.
Not only do links liven up text and make you look like a pro, but linking is extremely useful. By linking text in your page to other pages you can make it so much easier for other people to find related information quickly and easily.
Keyboard shortcut to insert a link
Highlight the text you want to be a link, or just put your cursor where you want to add a link in the Rich Text Editor, then press CTRL+K on PC, or CMD+K on Mac to open the link pop-up and add a link.
Insert link to another intranet page
- Click the Edit button in the page header to go into edit mode.
- Put your cursor where you want to insert the link, or highlight the text that you want to make into a link.
- Click the Insert link icon, OR use the keyboard shortcut CTRL+K on PC, or CMD+K on Mac to open the link pop-up.
- In the link pop-up, pick an intranet page to link to by doing one of the following:
- Select from the list of Recently viewed pages
- Start typing the name of the page you want to link to and select from the search Results that display
- Paste a URL in the box and click Apply.
- You will see the link you selected displayed as a different color than the rest of the page text.
If you want to use the intranet navigation to link to an intranet page, change the link text or link to an email or a cloud drive, click More link options at the bottom of the link pop-up.
More link options
Clicking More link options at the bottom of the link pop-up will take you to the link browser. In the link browser you can also search or view recently viewed pages, and you will see more results than in the link pop-up.
Find a link through the navigation
You can also find the link you want through the intranet navigation. In the link browser, you'll see a list of the top level pages of the site. Click on the small triangle next to one of the pages to expand the list of subpages. Continue clicking through subpages until you find the page you want to link to and click on it.
Change the link text
The Link Label box at the bottom of the link manager contains the text that will display as the link. Click in the Link Label box and type new text to add or change the link label.
Open link in new window
For all of the above link options, you can choose to have the link open in a separate tab when it is clicked. Just check the box Open link in new tab, at the bottom of the link pop-up.
Link to file page or download file
When you link to a file from the intranet, you can choose whether the link takes the user to the file attachment page, or downloads the file. The default setting is that the link goes to the file attachment page. To change this when creating a link, click More link options at the bottom of the link pop-up to go to the Link Manager. To change this for an existing link, click on the link in the Rich Text Editor and click the edit icon to open the Link Manager.
For the File linking option at the bottom of the Link Manager, select Link to the file page to take the user to the file attachment page, or Directly link to the file to download the file.

Is there any way to tag links or to make them searchable?
Hi Leslie,
Absolutely! When you add a new Link in the navigation, you can add tags at the bottom right hand of the edit link page as demonstrated below. Hope this helps!
