Common dashboard features
The following features are common to many of the different analytics dashboards.
Latest sync information
The date of the last data synchronization, including the corresponding timezone, shows in the top right of each dashboard.
Date period
You can choose view analytics from multiple pre-set date periods using the date period dropdown, or select Custom date period and select specific dates.
Available date periods:
- Last 7 days: The last 7 calendar days
- Last 30 days: The last 30 calendar days
- Last 90 days: The last 90 calendar days
- Current month: Current calendar month from the first of the month to the current date
- Last month: The default date range, the previous calendar month
- Current quarter: From the start of the current quarter (first of January, April, July, or October) to the current date
- Last quarter: The last complete three month period starting on the first of January, April, July, or October
- Current year: Current calendar year from January 1 to the current date
- Last year: Previous calendar year from January 1 to December 31
- Custom: From the first date selected to the last date selected.
When you select a different date period, the analytics data displayed will automatically update.
To select a custom date period, click in the date boxes, select a start date and an end date and click Apply.
Comparison
Most of the analytics dashboards have widgets that include a comparison of a statistic from the current period with the same statistic from a different period. The comparison displays an up or down arrow and a percentage value representing the change in that statistic compared to the comparison period.
The default comparison period is a period of the same length previous to the current period. (eg. Last 90 days compares with the 90 days previous to it.)
To select a different comparison period, click Change comparison, and in the Date period pop-up window, click on the Compare to dropdown and choose the Same period previous year or Custom period and select a custom date range. Click Save to apply the change.
Exclude Saturdays or Sundays
Select the Exclude Saturdays and/or Exclude Sundays checkboxes to exclude Saturdays and/or Sundays from the displayed analytics.
Content type filter
The content type filter allows you to view analytics for All content types, or for a specific content type. This filter is available on the Content created, Content unique views, and Content engagement dashboards. Your content type filter selection will be carried over when you navigate between these dashboards.
You can filter by the included content types:
Calendars, Events, Files, Folders, Forms, Forums, Forum topics, Groups, Homepages, News/Blog, Pages, People, Photo galleries, Polls, Posts, Profiles, Sections, Shout-outs, and Updates.
Download dashboard
You can download the dashboard you are viewing as a PDF. Click Download PDF in the top right of the dashboard and select Print to PDF/Save as PDF in the print window that opens.
Export to Excel
You can export the analytics reports to Excel to track and analyze your data further. Click Export to Excel in the top right of the dashboard and select from the available options before clicking Export. You will receive an email within a few minutes with a link to download the exported reports. To learn more, see Export analytics reports.
Tooltips
Tooltips are available to provide more information about various metrics. Hover over the question mark icon beside a metric to see a tooltip display with more information.
View users
You can click View users below an analytics metric to see a list of the users included in that metric. The pop-up window that opens when you click View users shows a list of users names and the corresponding number of actions the user performed. You can click on a user's name or photo to view their profile.
