Export analytics reports
To analyze and track your intranet usage data further you can export it into Excel. You can export analytics reports with data on intranet usage, content creation, content engagement, content types, search terms, and segment or user engagement.
The Analytics overview dashboard allows you to export any of the available reports, and each of the specific analytics dashboards allow you to export the reports related to the data on that dashboard.
How to export analytics reports
- Click on your name or profile photo in the top right.
- In the menu that opens, click Analytics.
- On the Analytics overview screen, click Export to Excel in the top right.
- In the reports modal that opens, select the checkboxes for the reports you want to export.
- Click Export.
You will receive an email within a few minutes with a link to download the exported reports.
The instructions above explain how to export all analytics reports from the Analytics overview dashboard. You can also export the reports related to each of the different Analytics dashboards (Usage, Content created, etc.) by navigating to the specific dashboard, and clicking Export to Excel.
Report filters
The filters that apply to the current export show at the top of the modal that opens when you click Export to Excel.
To change the Date range or Exclude Saturday/Sunday options, close the modal and adjust those filters under Date period. To change the Content type filter, close the modal and select the desired type from the Content type dropdown.
Date range and usage reports
The selected date range determines which of the Usage reports (Daily, Monthly, or Yearly) are included in the export by default.
The daily usage report is included by default regardless of the date range selected. The monthly usage report is included by default if the date range is longer than 31 days. The yearly usage report is included by default if the date range is longer than 366 days.
Content reports
The three content analytics dashboards (content created, content views, and content engagement) are closely related. The same content reports are available for export from all of the content analytics dashboards.
The Content type report presents data for different content types for comparison, so the Content type report is only available to export if All is selected in the Content type dropdown.
Segments report
The segments report is only included if segments have been selected for display in analytics. To configure segments for analytics, go to the Admin panel: Logs & statistics section > Analytics settings page. To learn more, see Configure in-app analytics.
Exported report spreadsheet
The downloaded report spreadsheet has multiple tabs, each exported report is presented in a different tab. The first tab is an About tab that includes information about the selected filters, who created the report, and when it was created.
